I Knew It

I Knew It

This is kind of old news now, I know, but I figured I might as well say something about it, since I reviewed the script last year and all.

Last month, it was announced that the movie The Hunt would actually be released. The release date is March 13, which is this Friday.

Here’s an article announcing it’s un-cancellation:

‘The Hunt’ Gets A New Release Date After Elites Killing Deplorables Plot Sparked Controversy

The social satire movie “The Hunt,” has been given a new release date months after Universal shelved the film amid uproar over the film’s subject matter. Last August, in the wake of the horrible shootings in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, controversy swirled around “The Hunt” when it was revealed that the movie’s plot would focus on liberal elites hunting down Trump supporters for fun.

The New York Post published a review of the film today, and it is precisely what I expected. I also think that they didn’t really change much from the script I read.

‘The Hunt’ review: Elites shoot the ‘deplorables’ in this ugly misfire

ZERO STARS. Running time: 90 minutes. Rated R (strong bloody violence, and language throughout). There simply aren’t enough synonyms for “loathsome” to do the new movie “The Hunt” justice. Perhaps if we expand into other languages. C’est détestable! È ripugnante! Take the phone texting conversation the so-called satire begins with: “Did you see what our ratf - - ker-in-chief just did?”

They really didn’t like the movie. I liked this line:

I suppose some might argue that this is equal-opportunity mudslinging, a la “South Park.” To them I say, “South Park” is funny!

As I said in my review of the leaked script, yes, it “bashes” both sides but their “bashing” of the right is lazy and uninspired.

I predicted this stupid movie would eventually get released, and I am not surprised to find that I was right. I don’t plan on seeing it, mostly because this is just more leftist garbage, but also because I work full time now and don’t get off until late in the evening, and I am not paying anything more than a matinee price for any movie ticket.

But I am not upset that the movie is actually getting released, or anything like that. Unlike the left, I don’t believe in censorship. Since there’s this alleged pandemic going on (and while I’m not saying you shouldn’t be concerned about the coronavirus thing, calling it a pandemic is absolute bullshit and apparently the definition of pandemic has been greatly watered down for political reasons), I doubt this movie will do all that well.

Anyway, as I said, it’ll be out this Friday if you want to give the asshole producers your money so you can make up your own mind.
