Big Site Update

Big Site Update

So, after a very long time of wondering why the comments weren’t showing up, I cracked and installed Disqus. I didn’t want to do that, but it works, lots of sites already use it, so there you go.

I wanted people to be able to offer commentary on each post, rather than sending me comments through the Contact Me form – although you are still welcome to send me feedback via that form if you wish.

But I finally got Disqus to work, so now you should be able to hold discussions on each post.

One of the ways I had to get this to work was to remove that annoying cookie acceptance banner, and to change the theme, as the previous one was just not letting me see any posts, and in order to get support, you had to have a premium version of the theme, of which I do not have.

I do passionately believe in free speech, but since this is my site, there are some rules regarding comments: no violent threats and no doxxing. I really don’t want to see bigoted comments either, but since some of my own writings can be construed as bigoted by certain people, I’d feel like a hypocrite for outright banning bigoted comments, but, well…I don’t want to see racist or anti-semitic stuff.

Anyway, have at it.
