You Happy Now

You Happy Now

A singer I used to listen to, who was entirely a-political, celebrated the 2020 presidential election by posting an Instagram story about how wonderful it was to have a proper gentleman as President. Or something like that.

I was so angry that I cut him off. Just stopped following and stopped listening.

When news of the fall of Afghanistan first broke, I thought of him, of Amy Lee from Evanescence, of my grandparents, and of all the people that supported Biden for whatever reason. I thought of them and then thought, “you happy now?”

Make no mistake, this moment is deeply humiliating for us as a country.

As you know, US forces basically left rather abruptly, leaving a LOT of equipment behind. Desperate Afghans chased after the big cargo planes that took off from the airport in Kabul, some even clinging to parts of the plane and, of course, falling off as the airplanes climbed into the sky.

Plane no.

First of all, I am one of those people that believes we shouldn’t have been there in the first place. Osama Bin Laden wasn’t there…we should have been focused on finding him and bringing him to justice.

If we were going to be there, we clearly should have done a better job setting them up so that they could, you know, defend themselves. Of course, it’s easy to say those terrorists over there are stupid and a lot of them are, but not all of them are. This report below, about how they outsmarted us by using our own social media infrastructure against us is harrowing and also infuriating:

Did America just lose Afghanistan because of WhatsApp?

In the middle of a conflict, good analysis is hard to come by. Because adversaries do not telegraph their plans to one another, plans depend greatly on the fact patterns surrounding their execution, and no human mind can possibly observe, much less comprehend, the movements of all players on the battlefield, the course of a…

So, because a bunch of people strolled into the Capitol building on January 6, 2021, President Donald Trump is banned from all three major social networks AND a crapload of other services as well…even though the so-called “insurrectionists” weren’t violent, didn’t kill anyone…even though the President himself told all of them to “go home in peace” – no, Trump can’t use Twitter, Facebook or Instagram anymore…but a bunch of barely literate sixth-century terrorists can outmaneuver the greatest military on Earth using fucking WhatsApp, of which is owned, run and controlled by Facebook.

This has me absolutely incensed.

Oh, and of course, the left is taking advantage of this nightmare by saying that all those Afghans just have to come to the West. The EU isn’t particularly enthusiastic about it, and neither is the UK, and of course, they’re all getting shat on by Twitter assholes because they aren’t willing to do a repeat of 2015 with hordes of Muslim men rushing to their shores.

I watched the heartbreaking footage of desperate people running after those planes, and climbing on them, and falling off of them from great heights. I can’t exactly blame them for wanting to run away. No sane person really wants to live under the Taliban.

But – yes, here comes the “but” – they all can’t come here either. Here, meaning the West, the developed world. We’re all dealing with the immigrants, legal and illegal, that are already here. We can only take so much before the system, and our economies, completely collapse.

Unless these people have enough capital to open their own businesses and start providing jobs, I say no, they can’t come here. We’re still in the middle of a pandemic, one that the left keeps telling us is the deadliest ever, so deadly that we have to sacrifice all of our civil liberties to fight, and they’re going to allow our neighborhoods and cities to be overrun with these people whose health is, well, probably not that great…these people probably haven’t been vaccinated with anything let alone the not-vaccines the globalists insist we take…and for all we know, they might be harboring all new strains of the virus…but yeah, don’t even bother testing them. Don’t bother giving them the vaccine before they get here. Don’t bother giving them masks and telling them to socially distance. Nah. They’re immune to the virus, but fuck us. We have to put our stupid face diapers on, we have to allow some total stranger at the local pharmacy inject us with some stupid poison that hasn’t been fully tested, all because some stupid boomer somewhere wants to live an extra three years.

Besides, the Afghans shouldn’t have to leave their home! That’s THEIR home (and apparently there’s like, billions of dollars in natural resources or something…now China will likely get to enjoy all that wealth, since we pulled out like total cowards)! They should fight for it. I say the same thing about Mexicans and other Central Americans. You can’t keep running forever. At some point, you have to take a freaking stand. I know that’s easy for me to say, but it’s true.

How many people have we taken from the third world? How much money has our governments funneled into the third world? Has anything gotten better there? NO. What we’re doing clearly isn’t working.

The only silver lining to this is that the Biden administration looks like the utter fools they are. I expect something to come out that will conveniently make us all forget the fall of Afghanistan. I don’t really have to tell you not to fall for that shit. Trump had originally planned to withdraw back in May, but of course, the election was stolen by that senile, bumbling child molester and his fellow Democrats, and now they’ve broken whatever agreement Trump negotiated with the Taliban and here we are, completely, totally and utterly humiliated on the world stage. And, of course, thousands of Afghans will either be subjugated by the Taliban or have to flee to wealthier countries that don’t even want them.

This is such a tragic and miserable situation, and the ultimate blame lies with George W Bush and his bullshit, horrific foreign policy. I voted for him in 2000, but not in 2004 because I was in Oregon at the time and lost my ballot. I regret voting for him. I truly do. I am glad we didn’t have to endure President Gore or President Kerry, but Bush was no better than either of them. We’ve had nothing but utter garbage in the White House for the past twenty years, save for Trump.

I’ll leave you with Tucker Carlson’s monologue on the subject:

FNC’s Carlson: ‘Why Did the Taliban Win? How Did the 6th Century Triumph over the 21st Century?’

Monday, FNC host Tucker Carlson opened his broadcast with a scathing critique of the Biden administration’s priorities, which he argued, in part, led to the collapse of the Afghani government after nearly two decades of a U.S. presence. | Clips
