The Line in the Sand

The Line in the Sand

October 12, 2024 Off By Elaine Arias

I’ve been watching the current hurricane disaster unfolding these past couple of weeks, and I feel horrified, angry, frustrated and devastated. I’ve lived in both North Carolina and Florida, and I remember fleeing hurricanes (in fact, when I was in junior high, my family and I lived in Florida and we evacuated when Hurricane Opal hit. We stayed home in Navarre for Hurricane Erin, and it was one of the scariest times of my life).

I don’t live in North Carolina anymore, but I still have friends living there, and fortunately they live in the Raleigh area, which is more to the East than West, which is where Hurricane Helene hit. The hurricane was absolutely devastating to eastern Tennessee, western North Carolina and parts of Florida.

And, to everyone’s horror, another hurricane came right after Helene – Milton, which has torn a path through the Florida peninsula.

Since a great deal of the western NC counties are red (save for a couple), you can imagine how leftists on social media are treating this – yep, they’re being colossal assholes, as usual. Some say that the people in Tennessee and North Carolina deserved to have their homes and communities wiped away because they supposedly voted Trump, or that they’re all hypocrites for expecting the federal government to provide relief.

Well, let me tell you something – those people, regardless of who they voted for, have every right to expect our government to do something to help – after all, a great deal of them have paid taxes! So if you’ve paid taxes, you’re definitely entitled to some assistance from the government!

But, unsurprisingly, the federal government isn’t interested in providing much relief to the people affected by Helene. For what has to have been like, a week and a half, Biden and Harris have been stony silent. The mainstream media hasn’t reported on this complete lack of response – unlike back when Hurricane Katrina devastated Louisiana. Oh, the federal government’s response to that hurricane was that it was all Bush’s fault and that Bush hated black people, not that the mayor of New Orleans had basically dropped the ball regarding disaster preparation (remember that infamous photo of dozens of school buses parked in a flooded parking lot? Buses that could have evacuated people that got stuck in their homes? And remember the horror stories of people being attacked and raped in the stadiums that were temporarily converted into shelters?).

What’s even worse is that FEMA is actively trying to keep private citizens from offering relief, and the wretched governor of North Carolina, Roy Cooper, sent Blackhawk helicopters to certain relief sites to hover over supplies and do a rotor wash.

And here’s footage of one of these attacks:

This made me SO angry. It’s bad enough that the federal government clearly isn’t interested in helping – but for someone to do THIS? To sabotage the supplies private citizens have brought for the people in western NC! Someone managed to identify one of the helicopters (yes, this happened more than once).

Roy Cooper is a complete pile of shit. His Lt Governor, Mark Robinson, is awesome and I regret that I’m not there to vote for him, as he clearly deserves to be governor:

Also, I have to say that Florida governor Ron DeSantis has been absolutely awesome in this. He stepped up and offered assistance to Tennessee and North Carolina, even as a hurricane was headed towards his state (one that has been every bit as destructive as Helene). I am not happy that he ran against Trump in the primaries, but he’s won me over with this. I am still 1000% in for Trump but DeSantis has stepped up when he was needed most, and I have a lot of respect for that.

Speaking of Trump, he did suspend his campaign for a bit to offer some assistance, as I knew he would because he’s that kind of person, and it has been greatly appreciated. Elon Musk is also offering free Starlink satellite Internet service to those affected, which is very good because just as Helene had hit land, Verizon’s cell network went down. It must have only been down in that area, because my carrier is Xfinity Mobile, which is an MVNO that uses Verizon’s network, and I had service. Forgive me if I’m ignorant about MVNOs, but I wasn’t sure if any Verizon outage would affect the MVNOs that use their network, although to me, it’s logical that it would. Verizon is one of the big carriers and for them to go down…that’s bad. Verizon is usually the carrier that has coverage in seriously rural areas, which made it even worse.

Things are extremely bad in North Carolina right now, as X is full of horror stories about buzzards eating bodies, etc:

Laura Loomer on X (formerly Twitter): “🚨Buzzards are circling the Asheville, NC area eating the dead bodies of human beings and animals that still haven’t been recovered after Hurricane Helene. Here is a very valuable thread for anyone living in a state that’s prone to being hit by hurricanes:

This is also useful for people living anywhere else, really. Earlier this year, Portland experienced a pretty bad ice storm, which knocked my power out and I had to leave with my cat because it was cold and I didn’t want her to get sick. Now I have three cats and I don’t know how I’m going to evacuate if the power goes out where I live and it’s freezing cold…so I’m going to get some heaters and lamps, and will likely bunker down if things get bad.

Our garbage government is very upset that people are spreading stories of sabotage and neglect, calling it “misinformation”:

Time will tell if this will wreck the Harris Walz campaign or not. Initially, people were like, “well, these areas are Republican strongholds and now they have no power, their towns have been wiped away, so none of the survivors will be able to vote.” Maybe. But then there’s eastern North Carolina, for example, and they’ve probably been paying attention to what’s been going on over in the west, and I can’t imagine any of them, Republican or Democrat, being too happy about the shameful response from the Biden administration. And since Kamala Harris is his vice president, she’s tied to it whether she likes it or not.

Sadly, as the usually do, the leftists are already taking full advantage of the situation – in this case, making changes to early voting in North Carolina:

Last time I voted in North Carolina, the building we were voting in had a big sign that said “VOTER ID NOT REQUIRED.” I took a picture of it, and I’ll add it to this post if I ever find it. It made me so angry so this is absolutely no surprise to me.

Oh, and how despicable is it that the press secretary is basically lying about FEMA blasting all of its funds on illegal immigrants?

FEMA is fully corrupted by the woke mind virus – take a look at their training:

Libs of TikTok on X (formerly Twitter): “In case you’re wondering why the FEMA response to the hurricane was terrible…. This was a training for FEMA employees. It states that the US was founded on White Supremacy and is ingrained in every institution. This is what FEMA is focusing on with tax dollars. pic.twitter.com/7EfXmbceMZ / X”

I shouldn’t be amazed, but I am. Every time I think I might be paranoid or exaggerating or making unfair assumptions, something like this comes up, and it turns out my feelings were 100% right.

And, of course, Biden.exe has crashed again:

HustleBitch on X (formerly Twitter): “🚨#BREAKING: Joe Biden just QUIT on live tv, addressed Donald Trump as “President” and asked for HIM to help the hurricane victims!”Help these people.”Who is the Commander In Chief of the United States right now??? pic.twitter.com/pJCwCiLKsP / X”

This is truly, truly sad.

Anyway, the line in the sand? It’s this, and the Democrats and their horrible response to the hurricane. You have to ask yourself – is it really worth it having people like Kamala and Creepy Joe in office, people who literally consider half the country utter scum and unworthy of any assistance in the wake of a weather disaster? They’re counting on all those people in the areas hit by these two hurricanes to either dying or simply not being able to vote. I guess they don’t have a plan to steal the election this time.

Knowing all of this, I don’t know how anyone could ever want to vote for Kamala Harris. If I were on the fence, this would have been the deciding factor. These same people raked Bush over the coals regarding his response to Hurricane Katrina, and yet they’re completely okay with ignoring this because the areas affected are full of white people that might vote Republican.

Words cannot express how utterly loathsome the Democrats really are. I hope you think about this when you go to the voting booth in November. These people do not care about you or anyone else. All they care about is power, and it’s clear that they’ll do anything to get it.

If Cackling Kamala wins, it’s going to get much worse.
