Under Rug Swept

July 17, 2025 0 By Elaine Arias

I’m sure you’ve heard the latest on the Epstein files (note: I started writing this a few days ago):

Exclusive: DOJ, FBI conclude Jeffrey Epstein had no “client list,” committed suicide

The findings represent the first time Trump’s administration has officially contradicted conspiracy theories about Epstein’s activities and his death.

This un-signed memo was leaked to Axios and they published the above story on July 7, 2025, mere days after Independence Day. Of course, Kash Patel, head of the FBI, and Dan Bongino, deputy chief of the FBI, had already gone on record stating that they believe that Epstein had indeed committed suicide so that’s nothing new, but this memo claimed that there was no client list.

The Internet basically exploded. People on both sides of the political aisle were pissed. I was, and am, pissed off too. By the way, for some dumb reason, Axios has put that article behind a paywall. Click HERE for an archived article, which is complete but does not contain the embedded memo. The memo was published by the Department of Justice and you can look at it HERE. I’ve downloaded a copy of it just in case, and if it gets taken down, I’ll update the post with a link.

So looking at the two-page memo and seeing that there was no signature on the second page, I thought, and still believe, that a rat in the DOJ leaked it to Axios on the July 4th weekend to put a damper on the good progress the Trump administration has made so far, and that Axios published it, labeling it an exclusive, and that the DOJ went ahead and published it on their website just to save face.

Then this happens at a cabinet meeting the following day:

Trump on Epstein Question: ‘Are People Still Talking About this Guy?’

President Donald Trump fired back at a reporter who questioned Attorney General Pam Bondi regarding FBI and DOJ’s memo on Jeffrey Epstein.

I was so disappointed, and so were many people on the right. This comes from Trump, and then he wen to let Pam Bondi continue to make excuses. I was just asking, WHY? What about the documents, including videos, photos, etc raided from his private island back in 2019?

Pam Bondi seriously thinks we want the Department of Justice to publish the child porn Epstein downloaded! NO, you stupid woman, that’s NOT what we want! What we want is the names of the people Epstein’s victims may have serviced. We want the names of the people that appear in those videos and photos. Virginia Guiffre (who I do not believe committed suicide) said that Epstein had hidden cameras at all of his residences, that she appeared in the footage taken by those cameras and that she was also seen with other men in that very footage. Who were those people? Why hasn’t the FBI ever questioned Bill Clinton who was on the flight logs, had visited Little St. James island and was photographed with a young girl giving him a shoulder massage (which was obviously not child porn)?

But she’s out there claiming we want that nightmare all over the Internet.

Benny Johnson has been awesome on this issue, and you should go over to his YouTube and at least watch some of the relevant clips. He is a podcaster but I consider him an actual, honest-to-god journalist and he’s been asking a lot of pertinent questions.

So now Dan Bongino is thinking of resigning due to this, and Kash Patel will leave if Bongino leaves. I really hope this isn’t true. I am glad they’re frustrated with Bondi but I hope they stay because we need them in their positions right now – they’ve been doing a great job so far. They have to parrot the line because they’re under Bondi.

As for the “client list” not existing…I don’t think anyone ever thought that Epstein had a database of people he trafficked his victims too, but what we’re after, as I said before, are the names of the people who were associated with Epstein and had likely abused those trafficked girls. Furthermore, Ghislaine Maxwell has a black book of contacts that is locked up with the SDNY because she’s about to, or already has started, the appeals process. Bondi could have just said, “oh, the information people want is at SDNY as part of Ghislaine Maxwell’s appeal, so we’re going to let that run its course and then we’ll take a look at seeing what can be published without further victimizing the women who were trafficked” or something like that.

I have a theory as to why Trump got upset over the reporter asking about Epstein. The so-called Big Beautiful Bill had just passed and signed into law, the federal government was in the midst of providing relief to the victims of the floods in Texas (and now other states are going through the same thing) and we had just celebrated Independence Day, so that’s the obvious reason. But I think there may be another reason for his frustration at Epstein being brought up. Remember that about 300,000 kids just went missing during the Biden administration. I think about 10,000 of them have been found. The trafficking of children for a variety of reasons (check the recent raid of a marijuana farm in California – apparently a bunch of children were working at that farm, which would be illegal whether they were American citizens or not) is a problem that’s bigger than Epstein. He was a part of it, but just that – a part. They can’t do much about Epstein now since he’s dead, and Ghislaine Maxwell is currently in prison, but children are being trafficked all over the world right now, and they are using the stuff seized from Epstein’s residences to catch more traffickers and pedophiles. And let’s face it, catching some no-name random is a lot easier than arresting someone famous like P. Diddy and expecting our garbage justice system to hold them accountable. Sad, but true.

As noted at the beginning of this post, I started writing it a few days ago, and stuff kept happening. Now Trump is off saying that it’s a hoax, defending Pam Bondi, getting angry at his supporters (who he called “past supporters”) for still talking about it, etc. BUT he did give Bondi the okay to release “credible” files (he basically said that a lot of the evidence was either faked or tampered with by the Democrats which is not surprising to me) and even though X has a trend stating that he is not going to appoint a special counsel but others are saying he is, and well, I don’t know.

What I do know is I’m deeply disappointed in how Trump and his administration has handled this. If there was never a list, then just say so. If the Dems or someone else either destroyed the evidence, then just say so. If the investigation ended up not implicating anyone else (which I do NOT believe), then just say so. And they should have said so back in January.

The FBI raided Epstein’s private island and confiscated a LOT of material (hard drives, CD-ROMs, photographs, a box of diamonds, fake passports – and some of those items were labeled “evidence”). What happened to that stuff? It can’t all be porn Epstein downloaded from the Internet.

On the other hand, I am already exhausted with this issue. I get how people want to move on, especially since those that do want to move on still have faith in Trump. I do still have faith in Trump. I also believe we need to keep speaking up about this issue. I only think Trump started moving on this issue because people kept complaining about it. I don’t care if he doesn’t like it. I’m gonna keep on talking about it.

That being said, Trump and yes, even Pam Bondi have done a great job in all other areas so I also kind of get Trump being frustrated, but what he needs to understand is that this is politics. Good news doesn’t sell. Only bad news sells. It’s just the way it is.

Trump’s also doing well in the polls, so people writing him, and the mid-terms off, is a bit premature:

Eric Daugherty on X (formerly Twitter): “🚨 HOLY CRAP! CNN is in utter SHOCK after learning Trump’s approval rating among Republicans *ROSE* since the “Epstein saga””He is at the apex!””This one surprised me because of all of these complaints.””If anything, they’re going up! 88%, 90%.”pic.twitter.com/jPAFxWrhTC / X”

Clandestine on X has the best takes on this whole situation, and I agree that we need to be patient:

Clandestine on X (formerly Twitter): “And there you have it!Trump on Just the News is spoon-feeding it to us.He is hinting that before he showed up in 2017, and during the Biden administration, files were doctored.Trump says he wants all CREDIBLE information released about Epstein, and his people are still… pic.twitter.com/yGC7HFxekH / X”

By all means, don’t let up, but understand that these things take time, and there are innocent people caught up in it, and we don’t want them to get hurt. Take a look at this tweet regarding the victims and NDAs:

Brian Cates – Political Columnist & Pundit on X (formerly Twitter): “First thing you learn about the Epstein case when you dive into it: Massive amounts of civil litigation where NDA’s were signed.Pay attention to what I’m about to tell you. The vast majority of victims do not want to go public. Most people only think about NDA’s going one… pic.twitter.com/QasVfvdzEd / X”

I am going to keep on monitoring this story and stuff, but I am also ready to move on. I will be so happy if Trump just appoints a special counsel to get to the bottom of this. If he is right and some evidence was faked, all the more reason to appoint a special counsel to investigate it. Not for a single second do I believe he was abusing children or girls or women at any time. I did wonder if perhaps the Demonrats faked some evidence against him, and wouldn’t be surprised if that was the case. But if they even had faked evidence, they’d have used it against him in 2020 and 2024.

As for the image in this post, I used Microsoft Designer to generate it as Grok wasn’t giving me something that didn’t look like it came out of a horror novel, but I am not sure as to why the character looks like Emmanuel Macron. Just be glad he, and that ghoulish walking corpse of a wife, aren’t leading this country.
